Exchange basics for Maratha Book players
MarathaExch and other exchange-style platforms can look busy at first: blue and pink boxes, numbers that change, words like “exposure”. Once you understand four ideas, the screen makes sense.
1. Blue is back, pink is lay
Blue boxes show prices you can back at (betting for an outcome); pink boxes show prices you can lay at (betting against it). The small number under each price shows how much money is available at that price.
2. Decimal odds include your stake
Odds of 2.50 mean every ₹1 staked returns ₹2.50 in total if you win — your ₹1 back plus ₹1.50 profit. Lower odds mean the outcome is considered more likely; higher odds mean less likely.
3. Liability matters when you lay
When you lay, your possible loss is the stake multiplied by the odds minus one. Laying ₹100 at 5.00 has a liability of ₹400. Always check the liability before confirming a lay.
4. Exposure is money on hold
Your exposure is the total you could lose across all open bets. It is held from your balance until markets settle, which is why your available balance can be lower than your total balance.
